We are an operator of indoor playgrounds since August 2001, when OKIDOKI-Kinderland in Krefeld first opened. In May 2006, we opened our branch in Willich.
 

Since it was hard to find people with experience in the field of playground equipment, we soon got a lot of interested people contacting us for advice. For this reason, we started Okidoki-Consult. In 2002, we created the first indoor playground from scratch for one of our customers. This included finding a location as well as building modifications and complete equipment. Since then, we planned and equipped around 30 indoor playgrounds.

  

70 per cent of our turnover come from planning and equipping new indoor playgrounds. The other 30 per cent are turnover from already existing playgrounds who buy spare parts as well as new products to improve their competitive position. Our goal is to become stronger in that area since we expect the German market to be saturated with new playgrounds in about 5 years time.

 

Therefore it means a lot to us as a supplier and consulting company that our customers be successful with their enterprises. This is a big difference to our competitors who merely help setting up new playgrounds.
We are happy to say that all of our customers continue to obtain most goods from us.

 

When we first opened Okidoki-Kinderland, there were only about 10 indoor playgrounds in Germany, three of which were in close proximity (30 km) to us. Sadly, the German playground industry did the same mistake as our competitors in the Netherlands and England and opened far too many indoor playgrounds within the Lower Rhine area. Now, there are 20 indoor playgrounds within a radius of 30 km (it used to be 21 before our competitor "Jungle Town", who used to own a facility in Krefeld, was forced to give up in 2004 for economic reasons).

 

Despite the challenging competitive situation, we had 120,000 visitors in 2009. This makes us one of the most-visited operators of indoor playgrounds in Germany.

You can obtain all sorts of play equipment and attractions for your indoor playground from us. We will deliver the desired products and will organise the complete equipment of your indoor playground, including outside areas.

Many of the products are produced by us, i.e. Volcano, Playgrounds, Speedslice, Go-Cart-tracks, toddlers' playgrounds, multi-function installations. Almost all products in our catalogue can only be purchased from us.

We also offer products from other German and non-German producers. We only sell high-quality top-range products that offer good value for money. All of the producers have a long experience and produce with TÜV or CE certificate.
We are present on all relevant exhibitions like IAAPA in Orlando (USA), in Vienna, Istanbul, Hong Kong, Dubai and Rimini. Therefore, we have a profound insight into the market and a good knowledge of the latest developments which we always try to pass on to our customers.

Playground / Play tower

One of the most important playground attractions is the play tower – and it's also the major investment. Since the play tower is a major customer magnet, it has to be well considered before the purchase. The service following after the purchase is especially important. We are able to provide this service quickly and efficiently through our employees.
Other important factors are the tower capacity as well as stability and durability. With our products, you can choose from different quality levels that determine the cost and durability of the product.
The main difference of our products to those of our competitors is stability and quality. We only use high quality components: PVC, steel, connectors, nets, ladders, slides, balls, floor coverings and artwork. We are happy to help you find the perfect components for your product.

 

The steel pipes that we use to build our play towers are 630 mm in diameter, whereas our competitors use 480 mm pipes. This results in higher stability of our constructions. We can also provide you with statics for our towers.
We used to work with 480 mm pipes as well. Since we started producing taller towers (up to 15 m), some of our French customers were required by law to secure their towers with the appropriate statics. This can not always be achieved with 480 mm pipes which is why we decided to only use 630 mm pipes now.
Despite the higher cost for steel pipes, nets, covering and mounting parts, we offer top quality products for extremely affordable prices. But it is always the customer who decides – if you decide that 480 mm pipes suffice in your case, we will use the demanded material.

As an indoor playground operator, we are able to help you with our and our customers' experience – planning and sequence are very important.

 

 

Although we only offer high-quality products, we cannot prevent that some articles may have defects of some kind. As an operator of indoor playgrounds, we know well that any defect attraction needs immediate fixing and cannot be put out of service for weeks.

We employ a number of specialists, so we can help you in a quick and uncomplicated manner. Most questions can be solved over the phone. We see ourselves as a service provider, therefore we will also help you after the end of your guarantee period. We will help you with all the products that we sell, not only with those that are produced by us. Our employees have a 5 year experience in the sector of indoor playgrounds and will help you to solve your problems in the fastest possible way.

We hold our own production- and storage facilities so we can usually deliver spare parts within 36 hours. You can also obtain all equipment from us like table tennis balls and rackets, table soccer balls and men, roll slides, bungee, trampoline, jumping cloths and springs, stockings, give-aways, birthday signs, tokens, coin checkers, etc.

 

We will provide you with all the necessary paperwork to make an application for a loan/credit as easy and uncomplicated as possible.

Paperwork that we provide you with: Estimation of turnover, cost and earning based on your region, the size of your indoor playground and your equipment.

The turnover estimation is precisely separated into weekdays, Sundays, Saturdays and holidays. Our long experience as consultants results in the most accurate estimates possible.

We have already done more than 50 estimates, this way we have saved all sorts of different set-ups on our computer. We then only need to adjust them to your circumstances. It takes us approximately 5 hours to create an estimate. This is why we can offer estimates for EUR 99.00 excl. VAT.

 
 

Finding the right location is crucial for your success. The cost of building modifications can easily be underestimated. Even in appropriate properties (ie. tennis hall) they can hardly be realised below EUR 50,000.

We highly recommend you to consult an expert in fire protection and an architect to be able to estimate the cost of the required building modifications. The fire protection expert will charge you around EUR 500 and the architect around EUR 300 for an estimation of the costs. Since we have already built a number of indoor playgrounds from scratch, we also offer to inspect your property, so we can give you some information on the cost of required building modifications.

 

 

Some of our customers like the brand name Okidoki-Kinderland and would like to use the name for their playgrounds as well. Customers who have obtained their complete equipment from us may use our brand name without further charges. Other customers may have to pay a small licence fee if they wish to use our name.

If you choose your own brand name, please make sure it is not protected and that no other operator is using a similar name. There have been several cases of lawsuits about brand names in Germany, some of which resulted in operators not being able to use their name anymore. Those lawsuits can easily become expensive for the affected operators.

 

 

We also offer consulting for operators of indoor playgrounds that have not obtained their equipment from us. Many of them have questions about gastronomy, play installations, birthday parties etc. These operators will be charged a consulting fee, whereas operators who obtained their equipment (or parts of it) from us will benefit from our experience for free.
Through our consulting, some of our customers have increased their turnover by 30 per cent. We always continue to stay in contact with our customers, even after the opening of a new playground. We are not omniscient either, so we will also benefit from your experience – that way we can help each other.
 

If you need consulting or help or if you want to buy play towers or other playground attractions – we are your partner. For consulting we charge an hourly rate of EUR 45.00. We will not charge an additional per-kilometer fee for any travels within Germany.
